4 - O Scale Compatible Shank Draft Gear Boxes. Replacements for Kadee #817/#818 Draft Gear Boxes. Used in conjunction with our O Scale Couplers for a more prototypical look. Couplers sold separately.
Usage and compatibility notes
The DGB48 brings a narrower profile and prototype details to an O scale draft gear installation. The back can be shortened by up to 9 mm where space is limited. An optional spring, not included, fits between the end of the shank and the spring locating nub to provide centering. Depending on the model, the lid’s lip may require changes to the end sill or mounting-hole position. The lip can also be filed off without affecting coupler operation.
The DGB48 is supplied in unfinished gray printed resin. Paint it to finish the installation and help protect the resin from UV exposure.
